Since 1974 the Chamber has taken the lead in economic growth throughout the Smith County area. We are creating an umbrella for economic development action – while putting new emphasis on the retention and expansion of local employers. The Chamber is available to assist in the packaging of business loans, to help solve business problems, seize opportunities and to get resources where they are needed. The economic growth of Smith County has resulted in over $60 million of investment since 1980... industrial parks, plants, equipment, and infrastructure. Our Purpose: "Community Investment" The Chamber's purpose is to promote and support economic, civic, commercial, industrial and educational interest and the welfare of our area. We answer tourist and relocation inquiries from all over the US. These inquiries are handled personally and are mailed promptly. We answer many requests from school students from Tennessee and many other states with information on our area. The Chamber gives you timely information on all kinds of business issues, etc. The Chamber maintains up-to-date information on consumer prices, retail sales, wages and benefits, employment trends, and taxes. You can turn to the Chamber for basic market statistics and research data. The Chamber works with surrounding counties on programs of interest and importance to the area. We work close with the State on the promotion of Tennessee and our county. The Chamber also works close with Tourist Development. We would love to have you! Annual membership fees varies from $50/year to $850/year depending on the membership type. There is a $20 one-time enrollment fee for new members. The following table displays the different types of membership and their associate fees:
Membership dues are deductible for federal income tax purposes as an ordinary and necessary business expense. If you would like to become a member or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at 615-735-2093. We will mail an information packet to you and follow-up with a phone call. Currently, there are 171 members in the Smith County Chamber of Commerce. |
